Introducing the V-Class.
2018 is a great year for Taylor Guitars. If you haven't already read our article on their new V-Braced acoustic guitars, here is your chance to learn all about just how important V-Class Bracing might be.
Andy Powers, the inventor and builder of the V-Class Bracing knew that there were two main ways to improve a guitar. You can improve its sound, and you can improve how it feels. V-Class bracing checks the "sound" box off and then re-writes the instruction booklet on how to build a guitar. The V-Class is special and must be heard in person to truly appreciate! There is science and physics and a bluff over-looking a surf break that allowed the invention of V-Class bracing, and its innovations like this that truly push guitar building into new directions.
Builder's Edition.
Alright. Sound improved, but what about the feel? Well, Taylor's already patented neck joints bring an optimal advantage because they can easily be adjusted throughout its life to keep it playing amazing. The strings are set close to the fingerboard and the necks are slim maintaining an almost electric guitar feel and ease, so a Taylor neck really needs no improvements.
Andy took his skills to the body of the guitar instead and added a beveled armrest that keeps the player more relaxed. He added beveled body edge treatment that rounds off the usually squared and rigid edges of a guitar. The cutaway features a contour with finger bevel that allows faster more precise playing near the end of the fretboard. Solos will flow smoother and truer as the guitar plays with you instead of fighting against you.
A "silent" satin finish sprayed as thin as possible to ensure the best dampening ensures that when an artist records, only their notes are heard and a spring vine inlay celebrates a new chapter for Taylor. A chapter of innovation that will change the way you look at acoustic guitars.
